The principle is comparable to the reusable shopping bag – consumers buy a bread bag and take it with them every time they go to buy bread. Naturally the look and feel of the bread bag reflects perfectly the ethos of the artisan baker, but it works just as well in the supermarket.
The reusable bread bags are made of organic cotton and contain no harmful materials and the certificated production process provides assurance regarding the responsible source of the bags. A bag will last around the same length of time as a cotton shirt: the bags can be washed as often as required (washing machine low temperature/gentle wash cycle) and can also be put in the freezer.
Currently the bread bags are available in two sizes – for a half loaf and a whole loaf. A third version – for French sticks – is expected shortly.
